Fun Santa's

Two pictures today, I thought this fit together appropriately. Heee heee heee, Ho, ho ho!!

A quick update on baby Dels, we are on hawk mode- yeah, they said to keep an eye on her. Hopefully it was the milk I drank. I think she has a bit of a cold, but it's hard to tell because it's not like she's talking and playing yet, she's sleeping, pooping and eating- typical. She is still eating so that is a good sign. She's had a bit of a stuffy nose, so we are going to plug in the humidifier thing and see if that helps. She's still smiling at me so that is reassuring. Thanks for all the concern. It's nice to be reminded that I'm not the only one.

Oh and I have my car back- $200 later. The same thing happened last year, the coil pack needed to be replaced. We replaced 2 last year and now another one this year, there are 6 total, so to look on the good side of things...you know the glass half full... I am halfway done with replacing them, only 3 more to go! Yippee!! Ha yeah right.

On yet another note, I have been trying to get my 2 year old potty trained, she is being pretty darn stubborn. I was told by my mom that we were all potty trained before this age, she's too smart for diapers. I tried over the summer, but in my own exhaustion I put it all on hold. I could barely reach my own toes much less help Annie on a small potty. So here we go, I can reach my toes again and we are giving potty training another go at it. We took the pullups off and put on big girl panties. After being dry one day, going through 3 pairs of pants the next day and then 1 pair of pants, socks and slippers the next, I wasn't enjoying this much. My mom watched the smaller kids yesterday and I ran to the grocery store. Annie was in her big girl panties and Nana was putting her on the potty about every 20 minutes or so. As soon as I walk in the door, hands full of groceries, my mom turns around and looks at Annie: "Oh you little stinker, I was so diligent with putting you on the potty and I turn around and you go in your pants, you little stinker, I can't believe this, you're too smart for this, Annie why did you go in your pants...you go sit on that potty!" I am sorry, but I had to laugh. Here is my mom standing there in disbelief that such a cute little girl would do this. It felt good to know I am not the only one who can't get that child to go on the potty! Hee hee hee, Ho ho ho!!! *smiling smugly*

Writing this reminded me of what happened with Annie the other night. She had just gotten off the potty and I told her to put her panties back on. I was cleaning up dinner and since our bathroom is still completely demo, her potty is off to the side in the kitchen. So I am "kinda" watching her get herself dressed. She is having trouble with the jeans, so she runs over and asks for help. I start putting the jeans on and realize she has no panties on. So it goes like this...

"Annie, where are your panties?" Looking around puzzled, where the heck did she manage to hide them this time. I looked in the kitchen dining room, living room, Ah- they have to be in the toy room- that's where she puts everything, it's a mysterious room everything disappears in there. Anyways, I can't find them.

"Annie, where are your panties?" "Where did you put them?"

"Right here."

"Where?"

"Right here." *standing tall, very sure of herself, yet pointing to nothing*

"Annie, where are your big girl panties?" *hoping if it is rephrased differently she will instantly remember*

"Right here."

You can see where this is going. NOWHERE. So because it is so close to pj time I decide what the heck, it's not going to hurt anything, put the pants on without panties. As I am doing this I lift her shirt up to fasten the pants. As I do this I see her panties...around her waist!! She shimmied through the leg hole all the way up to her waist! As I notice them, she looks at me and smiles..."Right here Mom!" *I'm so proud*

Cute story..."Right here" :)

Hope baby is better now.

My boys were slow at getting out of their diapers, but both went cold turkey when I finally decided it was time. Still, they were older -- 2 1/2 at least. Maybe once she wants to, she'll do the same?

wow...that's GREAT!!! awesome to get a good laugh in so early in the morning!! I know PJ's way too young, but we pretend potty already...if I'm going in the guest bathroom, he'll come in and sit on his pottychair, I make a big deal of it...it's really cute!
speaking of funny potty things...yesterday we walked to the library to return some books (saving on gas and getting exercise I'm so proud of myself...it was 71 degrees out, so why not?) and I brought along a diaper to change him while there, he had a big cup of juice-water to drink and I knew he would go, so I wanted to avoid leaking and getting his clothes wet. Well, I get him into the bathroom, and put him on the changer (which he just barely fits on anymore he's getting so TALL...not even year and a half yet and everyone thinks he's at least TWO) pull off the wet diaper, am tossing the wet diaper into the garbage can to my left and all the sudden....I'm sure you can guess...MUSICAL FOUNTAIN!!!! oh no! here I was trying to avoid wet clothes and he goes and sprinkles all over himself! So I grabbed paper towels (thank goodness the garbage can was right there, and I could reach it easily) dried him off as best I could...got his dry diaper on, and pulled his now wet clothes on him. AT LEAST THE DIAPER WAS STILL DRY!!! Hope that makes you chuckle!

I'm glad that baby is still eating! That is a very good sign.

I am still laughing about your daughter squeezing into the leg hole of her underwear! ha!

I am really nervous for the potty training days ahead.

Sorry about Dels being sick, it's so hard when they are little like that and can't tell you what's wrong. Hope she is better soon! Loved the story about Annie, how funny! Can you imagine being able to fit your waist through a leg hole?? Not in my wildest dreams! Both my kids were closer to 3 yrs. when they were finally trained, (not to bum you out). I have heard girls train earlier, tho. BTW, the flashing Santa is my favorite, but I'm enjoying all your X-mas funnies! Take care. Lizzy

Dont feel bad we just finished training our 3 year old son. Cute story about the panties being above her waist. They try to be so independent at this age. Enjoy the innocence and good luck with the training

I hope that your little one is doing better. I hate it when my little ones are sick.
Potty training. Ick. I am so glad I only have one more to go. That's adorable that she pulled her panties all the way up to her waist. :)

those santa pictures just made my night!

and the underwear! hysterical. the day we took MQ to be tested for kindergarten she did very well, and I was so proud of her, and then we got home and she went to the bathroom and said to me "Mommy! I forgot to put on underwear!"

I was so glad she hand't said that while she was being tested!

I found you off of the Daily Knack. I think "our generation" potty trained so fast because it was all cloth diapers. Totally not a fair comparison if you ask me! My daughter potty trained herself 3 months before her 3rd birthday--2 weeks and bingo. I also tried when I was pregnant and gave up. Don't worry she'll get it (my son took a whole year-AAAAHHHHHHH!!!)
