What Works?

I don't know about you, but I get really disappointed when I try something new and it doesn't work like I was hoping. I am in no way an official product review specialist (is that a job classification?) but these are a few of my favorites. These are all things I have tried and been really happy with. We are all busy moms (or dads) so let's help each other out, add some of your favorites to the list. If I have something listed that you use, tell me what you think about it. I would love to get some input...

I really like Aveeno's Positively Radiant Moisturizer. It has the SPF built right in so I don't have to worry about those dangerous sunrays that are going to give me those nasty wrinkles we all try and avoid. This is lightweight, nongreasy and not outragiously priced. You can find it pretty much anywhere and it usually goes on sale quite often. Love it!

I have long thick hair that has a mind of it's own...it just wants to party like it's in the 80's! I have tried many different products and this Matrix Shampoo and Conditioner brings my hair back into this century. I can usually wash my hair every other day simply because it is not greasy~ this is a huge time saver for me. I only have to use a very small amount, which means that it lasts forever, I don't need to be putting it on my grocery list constantly. This is sold in salons, but we also have it in our local grocery store~ Meijers. Love it!

I have recently switched to Crest Pro-Health toothpaste. It leaves my mouth feeling dentist fresh and I mean that, it really makes my mouth feel clean. I buy the mint flavor, we tried the cinnamon and didn't care for it much. The only thing I don't like about this product is the packaging. It has a flip top and if you don't close it tight, it leaks out and leaves drips on the counter. As you know I have children...they don't close it~ the top is all gloppy and is hard to close because of the glop. So I find that I am cleaning off the glop so I can close it tightly. I didn't say that they close it, I don't think that will ever happen. So I recommend it, but ya gotta close it. Liking it!

My mom introduced me to this product. Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish~ and I thank her! I use this on my sink, dishwasher, trash can, the little bar on the island that is stainless. This sprays on, wipes off and doesn't leave streaks. It doesn't spray messy and isn't smelly. Again found this in Meijers and at a great price. Love it!

Note to self: Add more stainless steel to the kitchen.

If you use any of these, share your thoughts. If you love something else~ PLEASE SHARE!
Have a great day!

Another great idea from you! You rock!
I am going to try that shampoo. I have thick, coarse, unruley hair, so it might help. In the past Dove shampoo worked for me too.

I love ALL Oil of Olay products. I especially love the eye gel wrinkle reducer. It is awesome!

What a great idea! I buy things all the time just crossing my fingers that it's the miracle product that will make me a model with perfect skin and a house that never attracts a speck of dust! Of course, that hasn't happened yet. I'm still a slightly plump girl with a few zits, some scraglly hairs and unfortunately there is more than one speck of dust in my house! :) But maybe these products will help that.

The toothpaste that we love is Aquafresh Extreme Clean Empowermint. Wow! It always feels like some sort of minty-clean bomb went off in my mouth because it's so strong. Your kids might not like it though because it's so strong!

I'm excited to try the stainless steel cleaner - thanks!

I love Aveeno products too. I have really dry skin and all of the Aveeno products are great! Another great product for hair that "has a mind of it's own" is by Graham Webb. He makes a whole line of products called "stick straight" to get that sleek look!

I actually haven't used any of these products, but I think I'll give some a try! I love Neutrogena Healthy skin alphahydroxy lotion. It makes my skin smooth and has sun protection of 15.

You're like a blogging infomercial!!

I love it!!

Sucking on the toilet handle? I feel the need to go wash my own mouth right now.

That wins the MAJOR YUCKO AWARD.

I JUST started using that Crest Pro Health stuff this week. AND, I kid you not, this morning I was thinking "hey, this is like the grainy paste they put on my teeth at the dentist..I like it." You are right...it feels as good as after a dentist cleaning, without the pain of course.

I'm on it... already have my kid sticking his head in our shower to see what St Ives Apricot face wash stuff is actually called. Love the stuff.

I'm going to do a post in the next few minutes with a few of my favorites... I'll link my few readers back here for your list as well. :)

Great idea GirlyMom.

I think I am going to have to try the hair products. I have thick hair also and unless I blow dry it and straighten it I look like bigfoot.

I use Matrix and love it! They also sell it at Target. I'm going to have to try your moisturizer. And the stainless steel cleaner. Everything in our kitchen is stainless and covered with greasy little fingerprints. So I'm all about a good cleaner!

Thanks for the heads up. I'm drawing a blank on what actually works as I have tons of junk that don't deliver.

I am going to madly search for that stainless cleaner! I use Method now, but it is a lot of work. I also love the Matrix Smootha nd Sleek, but my hair is fine and become TOO SMOOTH and SLEEK when I use this product. It is great to infuse moisture though!

Hi again. You know you are always welcome to link me... you don't need to ask.

I have to tell you I can't stop thinking of this kind of stuff now. Like Tea Tree shampoo from Paul Mitchell... I use it whenever my scalp gets too dry.

And my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE WATER- Nestle Pure Life. Not so much for the water as I belive water is well... water. But for the bottle. Starbucks has also made this bottle change to teh dumbell looking bottles. I love it.

Great idea for your post, Girlymom!

I use the Aveeno lotion, and the Crest Pro-Health, too! (although, we actually do like the cinnamon!)

I will have to try the Weiman Polish, I've never heard of that, but have a stainless sink and other items that never "look" nice and clean, you know? I shop at Meijer ever week, so that will be a piece of cake!

My favorite new thing I've been using is body cream by Bath & Body Works, in Chocolate Amber. LURVE it!!! Smells so good you want to eat it, seriously! :)

I love your idea of sharing favorite products, Girlymom! I need to thank you for the Aveeno moisturizer idea because I've been wondering about it. I use the Aveeno body lotion for extra dry skin and love it. It's the best fragrance-free body lotion!

I've been on the hunt for a new moisturizer so I'll have to give the Aveeno a whirl. I love posts like this, I always find a new product to love!

Came by from Perri's blog:) What a great idea! I just had to say Hi because I too have 4 wonderful little girls:) Aren't they fun!!!

Thank you!!! I have just used the stainless steel cleaner on my frig and stove. They haven't looked this good since they were new. I have tried several different cleaners and they all streaked and most of them smelled funny. This is a keeper!

Thanks for the review of Sleek. I also have thick straight hair. In a perfect world, I would be able to blow dry (or air dry) and go. Unfortunately, I can't do this because my hair gets too big and "ugh" looking, so I have to use a flat iron. Ironing my hair is time consuming. Maybe this shampoo will do the trick.

What a great idea! We should do more of these posts! I always prefer word of mouth---enjoyed the recommendations.
