A Coat of Paint

We have the living room back together. Somehow we managed to get 2 coats of paint up, paint the trim along the floor and the windows. The windows look much better with the blinds open, but I took this picture last night and didn't think to open them for the pic. We have decided to keep the paint can and brush handy and just keep moving along the trim in the rest of the house- in our spare time of course! I am really happy with the new color, it really brightens the room and pulls everything together. Hubby likes it, he's happy that the whole house isn't khaki and it's nice to actually finish the room. Now to the next room...hmmm- enny meeny miny mo- I think I am going to pick the baby room, she is still in the bassinet in our room, so it's a vacant room. I am sorting through clothes in there right now, someday I will show my TUBS that I store everything in by size. Heck, I'll run up there and take a pic, just a sec...
So I had to pull practically everything out of the closet in order to find all the Xmas outfits. Now I am in the process of switching all of Annie's clothes out of this room and into her new BIG GIRL room- switching sizes too. Once that is done, I can move Dels things in here. So it is kinda a miss match of STUFF right now. Kinda strange but I was thinking light yellow for this room (ya know cuz it's neutral- in case there are ever any boys in this house!) Actually it is more because the baby room gear that we have is all neutral colors and the light yellow was the original color I had pictured when buying it all...7 years ago! 7 years, WOW my baby is going to be 7 this year! Strange how that happens. Well, I am rambling- not getting any sorting, cleaning, painting, ironing done. I like these posts though, it motivates me to get these things done if I know I have told a bunch of people that I am doing it. It just feels good to get these projects off the to do list! Have a wonderful day everyone. (Wish me luck!)

Hi, Girlymom!

Thank you so much for the well wishes, I hope my shoulder feels better soon, too! :) I love the pictures of your living room! It turned out so nice, and I really like that color, it's very warm. You are lucky to have such nice high ceilings in your house, too. You remind me of my SIL, she has four girls also and has the same tubs of clothing that she rotates amongst the three younger girls. It is one nice benefit of having your kids all be of the same gender! Speaking of which,..do I detect the notion of baby number 5? :) I think if you have another and it's a boy, you'll need to have at least one more (hopefully another boy) he'll need support with four sisters! *giggle* Have a great day and good luck with all that laundry!

Good Luck! You and your hubby seem to be getting through your renos much faster than we are (and we don't even have any kids yet let alone 4!), I'm jealous :)
I love the yellow though - looks great!

pretty!!! I feel your pain, we pretty much "flipped" our house when we moved in and it's been home improvement central.... including sooo much painting! trim is the worst! but it's so worth it in the end. loooove the stained glass window, I'm so envious!

I love that yellow color! So beautiful. I love the hard wood floors too and the stained glass windows in the baby room. We still can't compromise on a color for ANY of the walls in our house, so it is still ALL white. Blah!

It looks fantastic! And best of luck in all of the sorting, continued painting, etc. I have an amazingly difficult time with two - I don't know how you do it with four!

I would have to agree that the room looks better with the blinds open. So, you closed them after I went by last night while I was getting in my January HD ride in.
By the way I got cought in the rain on my way home.
Anyway, I think the room looks very good and the color is right for it.
Love Dad

I love the paint - the room looks beautiful! Good luck with the rest - I am in the middle of the same sort of clean-up/reorganizing projects around here too - it is a lot of work, but so worth it in the end. Take care. Kellan

I love the collor yellow!! The room looks great. I have the same bins. I am so glad that I am not the only one. My kids go boy, girl, boy. I am having fun with all the boy stuff a second time around. Don't know if I will use my girl stuff again, but I hope so!! I love the stain glass windows and your wood floors. Your house looks beautiful!

The room looks great. I want to paint my kitchen a pale yellow.

Your rooms look like mine. I think I should have bought shares in Rubermaid. I swear sorting/switching clothes is a full time job in and of itself.

I love the color--my living room is the same! The floors and stained glass are lovely.

What a great task to take up with an old house in MI!

Yellow is my all time favorite color! Your paint job looks fabulous!
Congrats on baby feeling better and sleeping better!
I have bins and totes of kids clothes from size newborn to size 14-16 (my best friend has an older girl that hands down clothes, but are bigger than my oldest, so even SHE has a tote to grow into, yay!) I love totes of clothes! :)
Thanks for keeping up on my blog in my semi-absence!
I think I'll be around more now. :)

Yellow is such a "happy" color! I used to have yellow kitchen and I loved it! Yours look wonderful.

So, you are going to be brave enough to contemplate the possibility of a boy? After our four girls, my hubby decided that we had a full house and made the decision permanent. Good thing or I would have had more, and I just couldn't see chasing another toddler around while dealing with a chronic illness. Aside from the fact that my OB/GYN told me that four C-sections was the absolute limit! I guess that everything works out the way that it is supposed to.

Have a wonderful day.

Beautiful job on your living room. And I LOVE your awesome stained glass windows!!

Your tubs look so nice and organized. I, too, am plowing through some similar organizational projects around here. It does give one a real sense of accomplishment to have things in order! Good job, Girlymom!

I love the wood floors and the details on the window. Just lovely!

I think yellow would be a great color. The right shade is a warming yet energizing color.

Thanks for visiting my blog!
