FrOzEn CrAzY DaD!

This is my dad. He's CrAzY! This is his bike. He's CrAzY about his bike!
He has taken a ride on this bike at least once a month ALL YEAR ROUND since he bought the bike. This CrAzY nut of a father rode his bike last weekend in freezing temperatures~ not just around the block, nah that would be too wimpy, he went miles...miles and miles.
And he Froze.
Why?
Because we Challenged him.
Because we teased him about February being a record month for snow and ice...
was that going to keep him grounded?
Because he couldn't possibly let a little ice on the road stop him.
Because he's CrAzY!
He's my dad.

And because he needed proof that he is CrAZy... my mom - the much wiser of the two, was out with the camera and ran back inside to the nice WARM fireplace...

shaking her head at the CrAzY man that she married!

Now you know where I get it from.

My question is...

Dad if you were going to make me suffer through buying chaps with ya...

why didn't you wear them?

Hi Mom and Dad~ Love ya!

A little crasy makes the world interesting. Your dad is quite the handsome man I must say!!!

My dad is one of those crazy guys who does the polar bear swim on January 1st. Why would some one do that? I have no idea.

HA! Well, I give him credit for doing something he loves, even if it is freezing outside! You should have scolded him for not wearing those chaps! :-) Too funny! I'm with your mom, give me a warm fireplace any day!

Have a great weekend!

Chaps - Your mom only wanted me to go around the block and I just wanted to go and then I kept going for a total of 19 miles as the temperature was going down with the sunset. Besides the chaps do not cover that area that really lets you know when you are getting cold, if you know what I mean.
Temperature - it was a warm 33 degrees when I started and 31 when I got back. I really needed to watch the wet spots on the pavement like under the draw bridge, for they were icing over and I wanted to keep the shiny side up.
Love your CrAzY Dad!

Crazy is right! Hy hubby will start his in the garage and rev it up. No going out on ice, not cool. Tell your dad I said to play it smart.Hate to drop a beautiful bike!!

That is die-hard fanaticism right there. And a little dangerous I might add. Bikes on Ice is not exactly a Disney road show.

In all fairness to CrAzY dad the ice in the pictures was the only ice on the roads he traveled and he was basically walking the bike over it. He is a very safe rider and would not even think about putting himself or his bike in any danger. Maybe danger of frost bite, but he would not RIDE on the ice.

Dad is also one of the BEST drivers I know...he's gotten me out of a couple snowdrifts...I'm the one who doesn't see the black ice and slides into the median of the highway and call Dad and he's right there to get me back out on the road...He's also taken a driving course before...tried to teach me, but it didn't take I guess...
Love you Dad, thanks for teaching me everything!!

Your Crazy Dad should ride his bike to Southern California! No ice on our roads! My husband rides his motorcycle a few times a week and he just loves it. But I don't know if he's as crazy as your dad!

Love your blog!
